I have located the photos that I took on holiday in France with my son. They are on my Dads PC, so sometime this weekend I will be going round to copy them to a CD and uploading to here.
I am off to Ikea on Friday to get some furniture for the house. We had ordered a couple of wardrobes from Argos but they kept delaying the time they would be delivered so I have canceled that order. We had been look for furniture for my son, his mum wanted something specific and could we find it not a hope until we found this little shop and saw exactly what she was looking for, it is basically a mini wardrobe and draws for kids to use but the set would have come to roughly £500 so I decided that no we will not be doing that so his furniture will also be coming from Ikea. The problem for me is that Ikea is quite a few miles away for me and that they don't deliver to my part of Kent at the moment and as the car I drive is a saloon we have no space to fit anything so I have hired a van, which you would think is easy, nope not for me.
I wanted to pick the van up Saturday go to Ikea and load up, then unload back home and drop the van off, but couldn't do that as the van rental place closes at 12 meaning I would have to have the van for two days at the two day price, which with my calculations meant I should have brought my sons furniture, so I rang another place and they are open all day Saturday but have no vans, dam it, so I asked if I could hire one Friday (I had a look at the ikea site and they close at 10pm) and drop it off first thing Saturday morning, luckily they have a van and yes I can do that but it has to be back before 8am, which it will be as I will drop it off as soon as i unload Friday night.
What a drama just to get furniture.

Best Laid plans....
Yesterday was my 30th Birthday or as I like to say, the ninth anniversary of my 21st.
I was utterly spoilt and had some great gifts but from the way in to work I should have none something was amiss.
When its someones birthday in the office they will normally bring in cakes to celebrate (its the tradition of going to the pub and get drunk, but sensible). I was nearly at work when I remembered that I forgot to get any but i didn't think much of it as I had said to people we will go down the pub for a couple anyway.
That was that bit covered, i then get a text saying my son has been sent home from school as he is ill, I worry about this slightly as this hasn't happened before but his mum has picked him up and taken him home, so throughout the day I get update texts and one of them is that he is being sick, not a good sign.
We got to the pub at lunch and have a couple of pints with people from work and I nip in to CO-Op (other supermarkets are available) and buy some cakes and also 3 Christmas selection packs, I thought this would take the focus from me to that it is Christmas soon (well to far away for me to actually be bothered) get back in to the office and get all the cakes out.
I leave work at half 4 to see my dad as he wants to give me my card and pressie, so whilst sitting there I get a call saying come home ASAP as my son if being sick and bringing up yellow (guess he reached the bile). So I get home and he is not well at all bless him, he seems lively enough so I no its nothing major but every half hour or so he is bringing up what he can. From this we decide that going out for a meal (in the small Italian Restaurant that has great food) is not the best of ideas.
The ex's parents come round and I make coffee for them and I get my pressies from them which includes a bottle of 12 Ouzo this was so smooth as I thought it would be rude not to open and try. Once they leave we put the little man to bed and get a takeaway in and sit and watch TV, it was nice but as both of us were so tired we didn't really do much.
I think I upset the Cake Gods by not bring in the cakes straight away so will not be doing that again. I did get a set of wonderful cuff links though. see below
The small indent in the middle is a finger print of each index finger of my son. When I opened these out I almost cried as it is the sweetest thing ever. As you can see it has my son's name on it with mine and his date of birth.
I need some help.
I have been given some money by my mum for my birthday and have decided to spend £200 on a digital camera, I don't want and SLR as I know I will end up not taking it anywhere. so I am after something that I can slip in my pocket or at least not to bulky. Don't mind what the mega pixel is but would prefer something that I don't have to keep replacing the batteries on, so it has its on battery pack.
I have seen a couple and here are the ones that I am considering.

Sorry
I have to admit that I haven't been adding to this for a couple of Weeks now and I am sorry for that but with so much going on I haven't had the time.
There was the Reading festival (which I have started writing up)
The Move (nothing really much happened but will add something in)
Training (when I got back from the week and a bit off I had two days of training which melted my Brain)
What I need to write up about is Reading and the situation with me and the gf/exgf (the same person)
So please bear with me

Reading was Great Day 1
Well I survived another Reading weekend (just). It started well, I had everything prepared except my brother, my plan was to leave around 9am but my brother put paid to that and we ended up leaving at 3pm, now for regular users of the M35 you will know that this is a very bad time and for us it was, it took us three hours to get to the festival site, I dropped off my brother and his friend and found my way to my friends house, who very kindly put us up for the whole weekend.
This was my first year of not camping, the reason for this was the message left at the main reading website say that most of it was underwater and with all the campsites joining each other i couldn't be bothered with the hassle.
The Thursday night me and D and my ex's brother went and met up with the crowd that were there last year, it started with me being slightly stoned as when I had arrived the first thing to do was roll a couple of J's just to get me in to the Reading mood, so we get to the pub and it had been a while since I have smoked so was feeling the effects a little but out came the beer and it started to go down well, very well. We chatted about last year, the developments that have happened and whats going on in the future. Well from last year one of the ladies has been pregnant and had a baby boy, one lady is 3 months pregnant and the mad one from last year still is not having any kids nohow noway. After we finished at the pub we grabbed a takeaway and went home.
Friday Day 1.
We woke in the early hours, well about half 8 and D was just rushing out of the door for work so me and J (the ex's brother) had a cup of tea whilst I rolled up for the morning breather, i then sat on the couch and rolled the days supply as I hate rolling in crowds wind etc. Once we were ready we left the house and made our way to the bus stop.
We get to town and I need to find smell Ally (no this is not where the working girls hang out, but where the fishmongers, butchers etc are) to find the head shop for some new rizzlas. We head off to the festival from here and the queue is massive to get in to the site so we stand and wait and wait and wait. Finally on to site and we have a short wait to get our weekend wrists bands.
we get in to the arena and I start looking for the people that we hooked up with last night at the pub, I walk to where we were roughly last year and can't see them, so I send a text and they tell me where they are and I start looking for them still with no luck so I give them a ring and they tell me that are left hand of the stage so I go that side by the ice cream van when the phone rings and I am told, "sorry I meant to say right but I had my back to the stage" so I go back to where we were originally and find them.
Once settled in, beer was brought and joints smoked and we settled in for a day of entertainment, the music was good and the headline act was so so, razorlight were good but it was all of their slow stuff that they played so didn't really get the crowd bouncing.
I had planned my day out of visiting other stages and had it nicely programmed in to my phone so that an alarm would go off and I did try to visit three different tents and did turn up but always late and couldn't really see them so headed back to the main stage and the group.
Gogol Bordello were excellent and I urge you to have a listen when you can and maximo park were also great.
