My son has had two swimming lessons that his pre school arrange with the local sports centre and on Sunday when I took him, he was swimming, properly swimming.
I have taken him to the pool since about the age of 1 and I know he has no fear of water, but to see him swim was an amazing sight, it wasn't a doggy paddle either, which I was hoping for, but he was under the water, legs kicking and using his hands in the breaststroke fashion, OK he can't hold his breath for long but he can swim almost half the width of the baby pool.
When I take him we normally mess about and I try to get him to swim but I never knew where to start with him regarding how I should push him, so for him to have the experience of a proper coach/swim instructor to show him the basics has been great.
This was also the first time I didn't put any arms bands or his life jacket on him (its a float jacket), I did give him the choice if he wanted to use it and took it with us, but he said no, his confidence is great in the water.
I am so proud of him and can't wait for him to progress so that we can then both go in to the main pool.

Duck to Water
Time for a change
I have been looking at my blog for a while and decided that it needed some new input, so I have changed the template, but have also been looking on line for some more designs.
I found some which I think I like but think I will be looking for more till I find the right one, so this will be like this for some time, I hope that it is easy to read and not to cluttered or boring.
