B-DAY +1

As of yesterday I am offcially bankrupt.

This is how it went for me.

The bankruptcy blues kicked in on Tuesday when my car broke down, go tthe RAC out and have burst the radiator, have some money aside for car repairs already, hopefully enough to pay for it.So Wednesday morning my dad picked me up as I needed a lift and we left at just after 9, it was going well till we got stuck in traffic on the motorway, then along a country road where two lorries decided to turn round, going gets better then we come to part of the road that they have blocked off as someone has got stuck in a very large puddle due to all the rain, we then detour through the country lanes and finally make it to the court with 2 mins spare (opens at 10am), I had phoned them to lket them know I was going to be late but they said don't worry, they don't really run an appointment system, just turn up and wait.

So once at court I go to the enquiry office and let them know i'm there, then about 20 mins later I am seen by a clerk and he went through the forms with me to make sure it was all filled out correctly, he asked a couple of questions to clairfy a couple of things.Once that was done he asked me to wait at the counter so I could swear in etc. he did pick up on something that he said the judge mught want to talk to me about, he said wait in the canteen and he would come and get me if the judge did need to see me, if not go back just before twelve for paper work etc.As I hadn't heard anything from him by 11.15 I waited in the canteen, Tea is expensive in there. Went down just before 12 and waited and waited as were another 5-6 people. then at one a clerk came out and told us that the judge had been so busy that day he wouldn't be looking till after 2pm, they said we could come back or leave, if we wanted to leave, leave a contact number and they will let us know when its done, so most of us left. I did ask what if the judge wanted to see us and they said at this point it is very unlikely, I also asked about opening a new bank account and was told that will be fine.

I called my brother and he gave me a lift home, once home went in to town and went to halifax to give them my ID and the account should be open in a couple of days, have my wages being paid in to the gf's account this week. While walking in town had a missed call on my phone, rang the VM and it was the court telling me it was now official and paperwork is in the post 1st class.

So day 1 was alift to work by dad then a lift home by recovery with car and now working from home today.
