The Kid is growing up

I had last week off work as my son was starting primary school and i wanted to be there for him. He only started on Thursday and is only doing 2 hours in the morning but what a big step it is for him.

We took him on Wednesday as they had a drop in session for the children so that they could get used to the surroundings and meet their teacher again and just to freshen up in their minds who they were, it was a good hour spent there and the teachers had laid on activities for the children to do, the first was to paint a peg to hold their wellies together, the second was to colour in a pebble which had their name on it, the third which my son didn't want to do was to make a clay model of the animal of which class they are in, so for him it would have been a caterpiller. When it was time to leave my son kicked up a fuss and said he wanted to stay and play and we had to promise him that we would bring him back the next day before he would leave.

Thursday being the first day of school for him went very well with no hitches, we took him in the morning for a 9 o'clock start and off he went, when we picked him up at half 11 he was all smiles and really pleased with himself, he seems to have settled in very well and I can't wait for him to start full time hours as I think he will get alot out of it.

Here he is in his school uniform, this won't be up for long though
